Generate a game schedule

LeagueRun builds a round-robin for a division in one click: every team plays every other team once, home and away kept even. Each game is a single entry that shows on both teams' schedules, so there's nothing to enter twice.

Before you start

You need at least two teams in the division, so build your rosters first. If a division has fewer than two teams, the generate button stays off.

Generate

  1. Open Games.
  2. Pick the division.
  3. Set First Saturday, the date of the first game.
  4. Click Generate schedule.

The schedule appears as a table: round, kickoff time, home team, away team, and field.

Unscheduled games

If there aren't enough field slots to place every game, the leftovers show an Unscheduled flag. They aren't dropped, they just don't have a time and field yet. Add fields or more weekends to fit them, then generate again.

Regenerating

Running Generate schedule again replaces the existing games for that division. LeagueRun asks you to confirm first, since it throws out the current schedule. Only regenerate when you actually want a fresh one.

One game, both calendars

Every game is stored once and referenced by both teams. Change a game and it changes on both sides. You'll never chase down two copies that disagree.

Once the schedule looks right, share each team's page with families. See "Share a team's schedule with families."
